Electrolytic polishing

Electrolytic polishing is a method of imparting brilliance, metallic purity and smooth microsurface to a metal surface by removal
of a thin surface layer.
Generally speaking, the process may be considered to be the opposite of electroplating.
Electrolytic polishing is an economic, efficient and
environmentally sound method that increasingly supplements or even
substitutes mechanical polishing methods. Increasing demands on
surfaces for use in the nuclear power, pulp, medical, food and marine industries have boosted the use of electrolytic polishing. The most common material is stainless steel, but the method is also used for brass and silver plated ware.

TECHNICAL ADVANTAGES:
• clean surface and smooth micro profile
• increased resistance to electrolytic and spot corrosion.
• less risk for coating and adherence
• better mechanical properties, e.g. for deburring of drilled and punched details.
• less friction

ROCA USES ELECTROLYTIC POLISHING FOR ALL HINGES AND FITTINGS.
